Summary
- No ads. No trackers. No analytics SDKs.
- The app does not require an account.
- Optional location access is used only to show a position dot on the map (on-device).
- To display radar imagery, the app downloads images from a server; like any internet request, the server may receive basic technical information (e.g., IP address).
Data we process
1) Information you provide
Meteoradar does not require registration and does not ask you to provide personal information. If you contact us by email, we will receive your email address and the content of your message.
2) Location (optional)
If you grant location permission, the app uses your location only to display your position as a dot on the map. This is processed on your device for the purpose of map display. We do not use location for advertising or tracking, and we do not intentionally store your location on our servers.
3) Radar imagery requests (technical data)
To show precipitation radar imagery, the app downloads images from a server. When your device requests content from a server, that server may temporarily receive basic technical information such as:
- IP address
- request metadata (for example, timestamps and device/network headers like
User-Agent) - requested URL/file and response status
This information is a standard part of delivering content over the internet and is primarily used for reliability, security, and troubleshooting.
4) Data we do not collect
We do not collect analytics events, advertising identifiers, or behavioral profiles, and we do not use third-party tracking SDKs.
How we use information
- Provide app functionality (display radar imagery and map content)
- Respond to support emails
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
- Troubleshoot reliability issues
Retention & deletion
- Email support: If you email us, we keep the correspondence as long as needed to respond and for reasonable support history. You can request deletion of this correspondence (see Contact below).
- Server logs: Server logs (which may include IP address and request metadata) may be retained for a limited time for security and troubleshooting. We aim to keep logs only as long as necessary.
Because Meteoradar does not use accounts, we generally cannot directly link server requests to a specific person. If you request deletion related to logs, we’ll do our best, but it may be technically limited without sufficient details (time, approximate IP, etc.).
Your choices
- Location permission: You can grant or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Contacting us: You can request deletion of your support emails by contacting us.
Attribution / data source
Radar data is provided by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) under the CC BY 4.0 license.
Meteoradar is an independent app and is not affiliated with ČHMÚ. The app displays the data as received; accuracy and availability depend on the source.
